Dzhalgyztau Mountains, Central Kyzylkum. A.V. Tolokonnikov et al., 1984.

Synonym: Dzhalgyztau Suite, Джалгызтауская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Divided into two sub-suites: lower - coarse and thin-bedded dolomites with thin-micro-bedded clayey-calcareous dolomites. Thickness 324-340m; upper - clayey varieties of carbonate rocks: clayey dolomites, dolomitic-clayey limestones. Thickness 800m.

Lower contact

Conformably overlies the dolomites of the Dzhengeldin Fm

Upper boundary unknown.

Regional extent

Central Kyzylkum, Beltau Mountains.
